Coffee For Closers Beat Tape With DJ Swann Released

Let’s dive right into it man, me and DJ Swann took our tracks apart, like, really dissected them, you know? Then we mashed those stems together, creating this crazy collage of our styles. It’s like a WWF tag team, and every beat tells a unique story. It’s all about that perfect blend, man.

I was very adamant about having this project being on cassette with a walkman. Revisiting the Walkman it really evokes a tactile symphony – the deliberate click of play, the subtle hum of the cassette deck, and the rhythmic dance of tape over the playback head. Taking it back to the ’90s hip hop scene, our beat tape pays respect to the cassette culture that was huge back then. Mixtapes, cassette decks – that was the vibe.

Now, let’s talk about the real MVP – coffee. That’s not just a drink; it’s the magic potion that kept us going during those late-night sessions. It’s the secret ingredient, adding that extra punch of energy and passion.

Our beats capture that raw, unfiltered essence, channeling the DIY spirit of those legendary times. It’s not just a beat; it’s a curated experience, a sonic tapestry woven with the threads of musical history. And what better medium to listen to this on?
